The programme may be completed on a full-time (12 months) basis. The first 9 months of the programme involves taught study, divided into two semesters, each followed by examinations. In the following description, the term “module” is taken to mean a discrete component of the programme with its own learning outcomes and assessment requirements. All modules are at masters level. The dissertation is in the form of a three-months project, which allows you to explore a real-world problem in depth.

The taught component of the programme consists of modules worth 90 ECTS credit points in total, where 52.5 ECTS credits are compulsory modules, 30 ECTS are for the dissertation, and 7.5 ECTS credits are chosen from an optional list. All optional modules are offered subject to availability and timetabling constraints.

If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate that you have reached a satisfactory standard in an approved English language test. The following scores are accepted for direct entry :

Reply to offer

When you receive your conditional or unconditional offer, you will need to accept or decline this offer online via your Web for Admissions account. It is important for you to do this as soon as you decide to accept our offer. This is because :
  • we can expect your arrival and keep you informed of the activities organised for new students, such as international induction programme update, international welcome party, etc.
  • you will be authorised to access services such as accommodation booking, meet and greet booking, etc.

Deposits

All successful applicants for full-time taught programmes need to pay a deposit to secure their place within 30 days of accepting of the University’s offer (home/EU students: £250; overseas students: £1,000). Your deposit will only be refunded, normally after enrolment, if you have failed to satisfy the conditions of the offer or if you have been refused a visa. When you enrol on your programme, your deposit will be offset against your tuition fees.

A deposit is NOT required from students sponsored by their government or other official body. Please supply a letter on their headed notepaper confirming that they will pay your tuition fees.

References

You should provide two references on your suitability for postgraduate study. At least one of the references should be from an academic referee who has taught you at your most recent university. The second reference could be a second academic or employment reference. Personal or character references should usually be additional to the two references described above. Both references should be on formal headed paper and/or with the official seal/stamp of the university or company.

Choice of programme

You may have a second choice of programme which you should indicate at Question 2 on the application form. If you are then unsuccessful with your first choice of programme you will then be immediately considered for your reserve choice/s of programme.
